On the Road to Richmond... Session is only days away!

An ERA working group will be showing "Equal Means Equal" at 6:45pm on Tuesday, January 16th at the historic Byrd Theatre in Richmond.

Dear Neighbors,

The 2018 Legislative Session is days away!

This year I have filed legislation dealing with issues ranging from further defining hate crimes to exempting feminine hygiene products from sales tax. More information on my bills are available on the LIS website, here.

COMING UP:

"Equal Means Equal" Documentary Screening

I've been proud to serve in the General Assembly as House chair of the Women's Health Care Caucus to champion our shared values and make Virginia an even better place to live. Given the importance of gender equality to the national discussion of women's issues and the prominence of the #MeToo campaign, I have submitted an Equal Rights Amendment Resolution (HJ2).

With Nevada's ratification in March 2017, there is no better time than the 2018 General Assembly session for Virginia to make history as a leader by affirming legal equality for women in our Commonwealth.

Kamala Lopez has directed and produced a documentary, "Equal Means Equal," outlining the importance of adding gender equality to our Constitution. An ERA working group will be showing this documentary at 6:45pm on Tuesday, January 16th at the historic Byrd Theatre in Richmond. I believe you will find this documentary informational and educational.

I cordially invite you to join me for the screening.

I hope to see you on the 16th!
